Ashley Rindsberg is the author of The Gray Lady Winked: How the New York Times' Misreporting, Distortions, and Fabrications Radically Alter History.

He recently wrote an article for Unherd.com, "How Dick Cheney Created Anthony Fauci: America's biodefence strategy has finally backfired."

In this article, Rindsberg explains what happened to the billions in new funding for "biodefense" after the 2001 anthrax attacks. Dick Cheney, with the help of Senator Joe Biden, created the unholy alliance between the military and the pharmaceutical industry that eventually led to the COVID-19 pandemic and Operation Warp Speed. As Rindsberg writes, "Cheney's masterstroke was to remove the fragmented biodefence research programs from various departments, institutes, and centers, and place them under the aegis of a single institute: the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led then, as now, by Anthony Fauci."
